The camp consists of 3 newly built sleeping cabins, each one containing 2 sets of bunk beds with
brand new mattresses. One of the cabins has it's own fully equiped kitchen complete with running water, as does the brand new mini lodge. This will allow different groups to be autonomous.
Each cabin also contains a brand new woodstove to keep the chill off when the temperature drops
and is wired for electricity with electric lighting and outlets to plug in your chargers.
The newly built mini lodge is a great place to relax with a flat screen satellite tv, wireless
internet and unlimited free use of a voip phone. Staying in contact with the outside world will
be no problem. In addition each cabin will also have it's own barbeque and outdoor fish
cooker. The camp also has a fully stocked tool shed complete with generator and plenty of gas.
There's also a screened in fish cleaning shack to keep the bugs at bay when you're filleting the
days catch. There are 3 separate outdoor privy's to serve the camp as well as an indoor shower
stall with hot and cold running water.
The boats are a combination of Lunds and Nadens in 14 and 16 foot lengths. Each one is comfortably equiped with new swivel seats and anchors. They're powered by brand new 4 stroke Mercury 15hp motors and an unlimited supply of gasoline. Also new for 2010 is a brand new docking facility, located in a safe sheltered spot next to the camp. Another new bonus: There's an atv at the camp to assist in hauling gear when the need arises.
If one uses common sense there are very few rock hazzards on the Attawapiskat. There are some rapids both upstream and downstream of the camp that are simply not navigable, especially when the water is low. We would ask our guests not to attempt to navigate such shallow rock gardens, and to treat the equipment as if it's their own. The amount of safe fishable water is vast and there's never any need to risk either your safety or the equipment.
